Drugs to avoid

Some drugs may exarcerbate psoriasis and should be avoided in those who have this disease.
Several drugs or classes of drugs have been shown to worsen psoriasis:
Beta blockers such as propranolol. used to treat high blood pressure patients and those who have had a heart attack and within weeks of starting the drug can deteriorate Psoriasis.
Lithium, commonly used to treat bipolar disease, can even trigger psoriasis in people who used to be  previously undiagnosed, sometimes as long as 15 months after the start of drug use.

Antimalarials are drugs such as Hydroxychloroquine, also used for the treatment of Lupus or Arthritis. Deterioration in psoriasis was reported as early as 5 weeks with their use.

Interferons, used to treat hepatitis C, can aggravate existing or can trigger new cases of psoriasis. The condition can improve after stopping the drug.

Other drugs which can worsen psoriasis calcium antagonist and angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE)-Inhibitors (for high blood pressure), the antifungal Terbenefine, smoking cessation include stop smoking pill bupropion and SSRI class antidepressants like Prozac
